A happy weekend indeed!

Saturday:

Waking up early on a Saturday isn’t really ideal for me but yesterday I got up before 7am, earlier than my usual weekday routine. Ali and I went to Salcedo Saturday market. It was our first time to go there and the timing was perfect. It was Salcedo market’s 3rd anniversary, the atmosphere was festive and the weather seemed to cooperate since it wasn’t too hot.

If you’re looking for good food at reasonable prices, Salcedo market is the place to be. There you will find fresh seafoods, fruits, vegetables, meat products, organic products, gourmet and specialty foods and even home cooked meals. If you don’t mind a bit of barbecue smoke, you can even eat there, there were plenty of tables and the place was clean. We had steak (wagyu) and cheese sandwich, callos, bagnet, garlic rice and orange juice for breakfast. We’re definitely going back to Salcedo market again.

After the Salcedo market experience, we went straight to the 6th Toycon at SM Megamall. It was fun to see a lot of different toys in one roof. Cosplayers and toy enthusiasts excitedly roam around the area. Almost every booth got action figures of different anime/manga characters. Ali was looking for nice urban vinyl and Toki Doki but there wasn’t any. He just got a cute pair of Hello Kitty earrings for me. We also got a couple of DVD titles, magazines and some stickers. Ali really liked a shogun type costume that we saw in one booth which also sells beautiful Japanese dolls. Since I couldn’t afford it, I got him a chibi robot capsule toy instead. Lol. There were a lot of nice stuff around, we also found some sketchbooks and moleskines. We didn’t win any prize from the raffle since we have to leave early. Check out flicker for toycon pictures.

The day didn’t stop there. Ali and I went to Shangri-La mall to watch Fantastic 4 and bought gifts for our dads. It was a fantastic Saturday!

Sunday:

Happy Father’s Day to all the fathers out there especially to my wonderful daddy.

Today we spent the whole day with my family. We heard mass, shared a delicious meal a bottle of wine and basically just hang out. Oh and Ali and I played Warcraft III. I’m not very good at it yet but I’m learning. (Thanks, sweetie.)

A weekend with your loved ones is indeed a weekend well spent. I highly recommend it.
