are you in debt?

Well, sleep debt, that is. I wasn’t even aware that there is such a thing but there are a lot of articles about it. They say the average amount of sleep a person needs is 8 hours. When we reduce the number of hours we sleep at night we start to accumulate what is called a sleep debt. I calculated my sleep debt and I owe about 8 hours! That’s equivalent to one night’s required amount of sleep!

I love to sleep. But because of work, stress and other factors, I sometimes neglect the importance of sleep to maintain a healthy lifestyle. I find it difficult to sleep early and I find it difficult to get up in the morning too. (I guess Ali can vouch for that). I don’t have any medical condition or anything. It’s just that I’m more of a night person than a day person. But I’ll do my best to sleep early from now on. Besides, I don’t want to look like a racoon. *lol*
