Reject hopelessness

18 September 2007

Sometimes it’s difficult to stay positive especially when we are faced with a lot of problems, rejection and worries. If you’re feeling hopeless and depressed about certain situations, here’s something to help you snap out of it.

If your predicament looks hopeless, remember there is no situation so completely dark that something constructive cannot be done about it. When faced with a minus, ask what you can do to make it a plus. Reject hopelessness; substitute faith; use intelligent, persevering effort and you can lift yourself out of hopelessness. - Norman Vincent Peale

Enjoy the rest of the week everybody.

On criticism

11 September 2007

Criticism is really easy to give yet so difficult to take. I’ve had my fair share of criticism and sometimes I still feel I don’t get it. I usually take it with a grain of salt especially if they’re coming from people who believe that they are pure geniuses when in fact they are really clueless about lots of things. Well I guess even if the criticism came from someone close to me and it was said in a very nice way, it still wouldn’t be easy to take. A part of me doesn’t want to admit that I screwed up. A part of me hates to be told that I could be wrong. (more…)

How to smile

5 September 2007

Sometimes we forget to smile especially when we’re stressed, irritated, too busy, in a bad mood and problematic. A smile is a universal expression of happiness and recognized as such by all cultures. Maybe we should practice doing this all the time. Even a fake smile can sometimes make you feel happier. It is said that a smiling person is judged to be more pleasant, attractive, sincere, sociable, and competent than a non-smiling person. Smile and the whole world smiles with you. Don’t be shy, show those pearly whites. (more…)

I refuse to grow old

1 September 2007

Yep. You heard me right. I refuse to grow old. Aside from my fear of icky cockroaches, I really have this sort of fear of growing old. I even made a joke before about killing myself before I reach 27 because it wouldn’t be cool if I commit suicide if I’m older than 27. (I had this stupid theory about rockstars and popular people hitting rock bottom and killing themselves at 27 or younger. Crazy huh?) I’m not really the suicidal type so that was really out of the question. (more…)

Light is right

23 August 2007

A lot of people noticed that I did lose weight. I really didn’t see that my appearance (size) changed but everybody seems to be asking me how I lost weight. Ali also has before and after pics of me in his phone (which I may or may not post later. Lol.) and yeah, the 10-pound loss is a bit evident.

Before, I didn’t care much about my weight fluctuating but after doing the cleanse, I wanted to maintain it as it is right now. I guess I’m still a bit overweight for my height. My ideal weight is 100lbs. I’m just not sure if I could do that since the lightest that I’ve been is 105 (and that was ages ago!). (more…)

Master Cleanse - Day 10 & 11

21 August 2007

I finished the 10-day cleanse! Yay! Finishing something like this really feels good. Now the real challenge is maintaining a healthy lifestyle and keeping the excess pounds off. I’ll probably gain back some of the weight that I’ve lost but now I feel I have more energy to exercise (and I did, this morning) and I have less cravings. I’m easing off the cleanse with some orange juice, organic soups and fresh fruits. I didn’t break the cleanse slowly because I already ate solid foods like frozen grapes and crackers but I don’t feel nauseous. I had stomach cramps though, but it was gone after an hour or so. I’ll be doing the cleanse again, maybe next year.

Master Cleanse - Day 8 & 9

19 August 2007

Yesterday was day 8. Nothing unusual happened on my 8th day of the cleanse. Well, my stomach’s kinda grumbling but all is well after drinking my lemonade. I lost 9 lbs. but it’s not really noticeable. Ali is also doing the Master Cleanse. He just started yesterday and he’ll be doing it for 3 days only. I guess he was just helping me finish my cleanse so he joined me. :)

I’m really glad that I reached day 9. I just hope that by doing this, Ali and I will be able to control our cravings and live healthier.

Master Cleanse - Day 7

17 August 2007

I’ve been quite grumpy and sensitive since day yesterday. I’m craving for chips and pizza and cheeseburgers and pasta. I’m really glad that I’ve made it to day 7 but I feel like I need to ease off the cleanse since I’m experiencing stomach cramps and I’m starting to get tired of the taste of the lemonade. I hated the tea from the beginning and now it tastes more awful than ever. But I really want to complete the 10 days. I do feel lighter though, especially right after I wake up in the morning. But I’m not sure if I can make it till Monday. (more…)

Master Cleanse - Day 6

16 August 2007

Last night, I almost gave up with the cleanse because I was really craving for pasta and chicken. I really wanted to eat. I didn’t know that it would be this difficult. Maybe for some people a 10-day lemonade diet is really easy but for a snacker like me, it takes a lot of control and discipline. Then I had a dream this morning. In my dream, I decided to stop with the cleansing process and eat all of my favorite foods. After eating, I felt a lot worse than before. Then I drank the lemonade again and people around me are telling me that it’s no good since I already ate a lot of food. When I woke up, I’m really trying to convince myself to stick with the cleanse and complete the 10 days. I’m feeling grumpy though. I just hope if ever I quit, I won’t feel bad like I did in my dream.
