weapon of choice? Adobe Premiere Pro 2

4 March 2007

It’s been almost two weeks since my last post. I know I should have squeezed in some time to write something but everything always turns up. But being busy is better than being idle. At least I’m learning something new for each project that I’m being assigned to.

Last week, I was asked to be the editor of the video presentation that we had for our quarterly office gathering. Its aim is to cascade the organization’s values in a fun and entertaining fashion. Our group decided to create a spoof of a popular news program. (more…)

become ghost rider

15 February 2007

Not sure if we’re going to watch Ghost Rider later because I’m feeling a little under the weather but we we’re looking forward to seeing it since last year. There’s a buzz that it will not be a guaranteed hit (it was released earlier here in the Phils, U.S. showing is on the 16th) since it was shelved for quite some time and Ghost Rider is just a second tier Marvel character. It also has the same director as Daredevil (sucked big time). Well, I think the effects are good and I’ve always liked Nicolas Cage, it’s a Nic flick so I’m giving it a chance.

If you want to become a ghost rider yourself then check out this site. You think fire looks good on ya? Click and burn.

mail a bunch of flowers

13 February 2007

Want to send flowers everyday to your loved one? Check out flowers2mail.com. It’s fast, easy and it’s free plus you get to be the “go-go” flower arranger (according to Ali). *lol* The selection is quite limited to usual flowers. There are virtual roses, carnation, tulips, daisies, lilies and sunflowers. All you have to do is choose a vase, arrange the flowers, write a card and send. (more…)

coordinate colors perfectly

4 February 2007

Thinking of remodeling/repainting your house? Need inspiration for colors? Check out Behr’s website and sample the Color Smart tool. Behr’s products include paints and primers, decorative finishes, wood floor coatings, cleaners, conditioners and many more. You’ll also find in their website a lot of decorating tips and even calculate the amount of paint that you’ll need. I’m not really sure if Behr products are available locally but there are a lot of good hardware stores here like True Value and Ace Hardware where they can mix your preferred paint colors. (more…)

zamzar! convert files online without the hassle

2 February 2007

I bet you’ve been in a situation wherein you want to convert a file to another format but you don’t have the necessary software handy. I know I have. What I would normally do is google for a free software that will do the job, register, download the app, then install the app. I can begin to convert my files only after doing those steps.

Then I stumbled upon Zamzar, an online conversion tool that does the trick for free! Yay! It’s still in beta, but it’s quite impressive, they support a wide array of file formats, be it a document, an image, music, or video. Click here to view a list of supported files.

i won a Kingston K-PEX100!

19 January 2007

I just got my Kingston K-PEX 100, a prize that I won from HWM’s Balanced Diet Contest which I really don’t remember joining. Then I browsed through my old mail, and there it was, my contest entry. It was basically just describing the K-PEX 100’s features.

A few months ago, Ali won an HP copier/scanner/printer also from HWM. He was the one who told me join those magazine contests. I just need to send my answers through email and if I’m lucky, I’ll get to have something techie. Nice. (more…)

Microsoft Office Professional 2007 and Groove 2007 Launch

15 January 2007

I got this from Michael’s Blog. I should have posted this last Saturday but I got caught up with fixing my laptop and stuff. Anyway, Vista and Office 2007 will launched all over the United States starting this week. Microsoft is giving away free copies of Office Professional 2007 and Office Groove 2007 if you attend any of these business launches. Pretty cool, huh? I wonder when are they going to launch here in the Philippines? I hope there’ll be freebies too. Anyone here who’s got inside info on the local Microsoft events? :)

is your pc vista ready?

10 January 2007

I found Vista Readiness Advisor, a free service from CNET and System Requirements Lab which scans your system to know whether or not your pc is ready to run Windows Vista. It evaluates your hardware and system software and compares it to CNET’s own recommended Vista requirements. Suggestions are provided on how to update or upgrade each component that does not meet CNET’s recommended specifications. (more…)

8 January 2007

I have been an active stumbler (Stumbler #1481081) since July 2006. If you don’t know what I’m talking about, you probably haven’t signed up with StumbleUpon. Basically it’s a cool downloadable toolbar (works with both IE and Firefox) that helps you discover websites that match your interest. You can also share your discoveries, rate them and get to keep your Stumble history for future reference. (more…)
