Tomy Flip Flap

24 January 2008

I’ve never been really good with plants. I remember when I was a kid, I planted some vegetable seeds in the backyard, they grew about a couple of inches then they dried up. In school, we had to grow flowers for our practical arts/home economics class and the seeds I planted didn’t grow at all, I just bought flowers in a pot to show to my teacher. And then about a month ago, my mom brought a welcome plant (whatever that is) to our place here in Makati. She said a house is better with plants. She also said it’s so easy to maintain, it doesn’t need a lot of sunlight, I just need to water it a couple of times a week and that’s it. I followed mom’s instructions but what used to be a green and healthy plant is slowly turning brown and somewhat dull!

I guess I should just get one of these.

Tomy Flip Flap

It’s a Tomy Flip Flap. And as described on the Tomy website,

This uber cool solar powered plant is a hit in the offices and apartments of Japan and the craze is growing in the UK!

No Batteries, no water and no hassle – this is the ideal plant for style conscious executives and tired students!

Just Flip the switch and grow your mind to the swaying leaves of this delightful plant. There are 3 modes of movement to enable Flip Flap to soothe and energise both you and your living space depending on the mood.

Yeah, I know I’m such a geek. Real plants don’t like me.

Asshole Driven development (ADD) - Any team where the biggest jerk makes all the big decisions is asshole driven development. All wisdom, logic or process goes out the window when Mr. Asshole is in the room, doing whatever idiotic, selfish thing he thinks is best. There may rules and processes, but Mr. A breaks them and people follow anyway.
