I refuse to grow old

Yep. You heard me right. I refuse to grow old. Aside from my fear of icky cockroaches, I really have this sort of fear of growing old. I even made a joke before about killing myself before I reach 27 because it wouldn’t be cool if I commit suicide if I’m older than 27. (I had this stupid theory about rockstars and popular people hitting rock bottom and killing themselves at 27 or younger. Crazy huh?) I’m not really the suicidal type so that was really out of the question.

I just decided not to grow old. Grow up yes, but old? Not really. Sure, I admire people who age gracefully but if I could avoid it then I would. Nope I’m not talking about some surgical shit (not as this stage, I guess. Lol). I’m talking about the attitude to keep me looking young. Genetically, I have my parents to thank because they look really young for their age and fortunately I got that from them. I still get carded sometimes in theaters or casinos though I’m way past the legal age. Maybe it’s my starving artist look, (I’m always in jeans, well-worn/vintage shirts and my ever reliable pair of Chucks) that I seem like a wayward, just-out-of-school kid compared to sophisticatedly dressed women my age. Lol. I still worry about the fine lines on my face, dark circles around my eyes and the subtle wrinkles here and there. I really have to improve my lifestyle and my eating habits. Though I go to the gym almost everyday, I still need a little more discipline and motivation. A few trips to my dermatologist every so often would be great too.

But I still think it’s more of the attitude. My parents are happy people that’s why their aging process is slow. Sometimes I still get depressed when things don’t go my way and that’s what I want to avoid. I don’t want words like worry and stress seemed to be plastered on my face that everyone can see that I AM worried and stressed. What I’m feeling within is a reflection of myself so I better be feeling young and energetic too. And I think I know just how to do it. I don’t take everything too seriously and I still find time to play, doodle, watch anime/cartoons, basically just doing the things I love to do. I remember seeing pictures of the Red Bull London Headquarters in a website before and it looks really great and fun place to work. I searched for it again and came across this post. It looks like a really happy workplace. I’d be delighted to work in a very spacious and comfortable office with a slide to move from one floor to another.

Cool huh? My office looks like a warehouse with tables compared to this. But I still enjoy what I’m doing so I guess I’m good. And we’re expecting new computers this month and that’s pretty cool too. But I still think that an employee recreation lounge with recliners and video games is way cooler. Nah, I’m not asking for too much. I see it as a way of getting in our zones and it will definitely make us more creative. Yeah, ‘nuf said. Lol.

Nope you don’t look old enough to be my father, sweetie. Maybe a little older but not that old.

Yep yep. I hope I’ll have something like that, maybe I can even add trampolines and arcade games and stuff. Yay!

Well, with this type of working environment, who would not go wrong? They definitely would enjoy work.

Yet, given the setup in your building and the business-related, financial-mindset–I doubt there would be a room for such relaxing and stress-free venues. :(
