The Obama website - shiny!
When I first saw Sen. Barack Obama’s website, I must say I was really impressed. It’s got the web 2.0 feel all over it, very clean, crisp, easy to navigate, with just enough white spaces. Props to the developer of the site. It may take a little while to load for some people, but hey, it’s worth the wait since it’s got a beautiful design and clean layout, you won’t get lost while browsing around.
And then, I came back for more. I checked out more of the design and what it has to say about the presidential candidate. This is not a Barack Obama endorsement and I’m not from the U.S. I’m just admiring how he uses the internet for his campaign. He’s even got a logo. Though to me it looks a bit Pepsi-ish at first, after a little getting used to, the ‘O’ logo seemed to work just fine. He uses his website to get his message across and let people know what he has to offer. It’s very interactive. I guess it’s also a smart and effective fund raising tool. He’s got the Obama blog, the Obama store, the Obama events, Obama mobile and a whole lot more. Popular social networking sites are also highlighted here to let the people know that he is, indeed everywhere.
For someone whose got a very minuscule interest in politics, I must say that the Obama’s website stirred my curiosity and made me browse around the site more. Oh and if you want that nifty slideshow on the homepage, you can go check it out at WebAppers site. I might also find a use for it sometime soon. Ali found the script a few weeks ago. He’s equally impressed with the Obama website.
